The recent issue of Drumscene Magazine (issue 86) featured my last Cajon article as part of the ‘Cajon Essentials’ series. This time, I bring it back to the roots, and discuss the origins of the Cajon (Peru), and then focus on how it has been used in flamenco music. I desribe the features of my favourite flamenco rhythm, the bulerias.
I hope you enjoy this double-page spread. It has been a privelage and honour to write for Drumscene Magazine over the last year – and I look forward to working with them in the future.
